Tourist Town

What if this life we are currently living is like a stop on a long trip and our  body is a means of  transportation through a single city where there is a lot to explore?

The more I study the bardos of life and death, the more I feel that nothing is ever truly gone but that everything shifts in composition. So if that is true, what does it mean for us as we go about living our day to day lives?

As I shift to a place of doing what I am being "called" to do, I feel more at home in this body, this existence. I'm experiencing a sense of finally answering something that has been at times whispering, at other times shouting in my ear for a very long time.

This week I was given the opportunity to share my art and poetry with Veterans at the Minnesota Veterans home in Silver Bay. Conversation about farm life infused by my farm poems had us all laughing at the experiences we shared. Then participants chose one of my new "pollinator series" block prints to print on a card and bookmark for themselves. Many such opportunities have been arriving in my inbox each day. I know it is because I am opening myself to new things - accepting a new identity that I skirted around before.

Some of these new explorations are challenging and scary. Some of them are easy. But all are exciting and transformative. With each new experience, I continue to grow in confidence and a deeper understanding that there is always more to learn.

Are there things in your life's "itinerary" that you are avoiding? A call you cannot yet hear?

I wish you all the joy of discovering (AND SHARING!) the beautiful hidden places within you that long for light and connection.
